| Commitment to Regional Australia
~ Brookfarm's family of fine foods is produced and manufactured
locally, ensuring that quality control is constantly maintained.
~ We create real job opportunities locally and assist in the building
of a viable, innovative local food manufacturing industry. Local
manufacturing industry is crucial to the growth of rural NSW.
~ We use the freshest ingredients Australia has to offer, with an
emphasis on the abundance of fresh local produce unique to this
area.
~ We only use an imported ingredient if no Australian product is
available.
Commitment to the community
Giving back to the community is very important to us. We support
breakfast programs in regional New South Wales to help provide balanced
and healthy nutrition to those most in need. We do this through
a school's breakfast program and by supporting a breakfast program
at a drug rehabilitation centre.
Commitment to the environment
Over the past 13 years on our farm we have regenerated approximately
five hectares of rainforest and reforested another 12 hectares of
eucalypt forest. Current projects include the wetlands restoration
of the creek, which runs through the centre of our property. This
is becoming a haven for birds & wildlife. Before European settlement
St Helena was part of the "Big Scrub" which once covered
75,000 hectares. Most of the trees planted in our rainforest are
native to our area and we have some very old remnant examples such
as the beautiful and endangered species Syzygium moorei (Rose Coolamon)
and magnificent stands of Bangalow Palms. Brookfarm is a member
the Big Scrub Rainforest Landcare group. |
