Brookfarm Natural Macadamia Muesli is in the Swiss style and makes a superb Bircher muesli when soaked with a dollop of fresh yoghurt overnight.

A Dr. Bircher first created Bircher Muesli in 1887 at his Swiss diet clinic. It became a national breakfast tradition from the 1920's.

Brookfarm Natural Macadamia Muesli comes from a traditional Australian recipe based around the infamous pre skiing breakfasts of Pam's father, Mick Hull.

'The kitchen used to be filled with jars of oats, bran, nuts, grains, seeds, dried fruits and secret ingredients my father would specially request. He would then blend a new mix each week until the ideal combination was achieved.' Mick was passionate about Muesli and passionate about his skiing and was one of the early pioneers of downhill skiing in Australia. He skied until he was eighty-four, winning gold medals in the over seventies and later in the over eighties slalom races. At the age of 79 he came in second in the world's over 70's Giant Slalom championships in Austria. Mick was beaten by an 85 year old.

bronze medal 2003bronze medal 2006Brookfarm Toasted Macadamia Muesli is gently blended with a local unprocessed bush honey that is full of flavour and not too sweet. Most toasted mueslis are fried in GM modified fats, ours is not fried but baked gently in the oven and the only oil used is healthy macadamia oil which has the highest monounsaturate level of any oil, plus tastes superb.

Macadamia is the third highest ingredient in our muesli giving it fabulous flavours plus the superb health benefits of this Australian rainforest nut. Once the muesli has baked and cooled to room temperature we add the naturally dried Barossa Valley currants and sultanas and the Murrumbidgee apricots, so that they stay soft and full of flavour. Be warned our customers tell us our toasted muesli is irresistible and is said to be highly addictive.

Retail Information
The mueslis are packed in double-laminated bags for maximum freshness and flavour. They are available in 500 gm and 1.5kg packs. Two litre display jars are also available.
